And then there was blue!

Oh my goodness...I sit at my office window, gazing out, and peaking through that white stuff---blue skies!
Though we didn't have winter (and I LOVE winter!), I am in agreement with most of the folks in my circle, with the daffodils, the crocuses, the birds, the buds, and the outdoor equipment (it is time to start grilling out)....bring on spring!
Though we can do without the spring showers.
I grew up in Florida, where the showers were frequently deluges, and a 'downpour' was a rain so strong you couldn't see the street from your front porch. No matter how hard it rained, or how often, sprinkle or hurricane, my mother would say 'Well, it's a good soaking rain.' The woman loved water falling from the sky; she was Noah's wife, reincarnated.
I came to appreciate rain (though snow is more coveted than gold). Yet, there can be too much a good thing. We've seen enough rain. We are now reveling in the blueness above us, even if it drives the blue out of my patients (bad for the business of a therapist, you know). And that 'we' is me apparently joining the rest of Tennessee humanity.
So, welcome, spring. Welcome blue skies. Welcome flowers and blossoms, tree leaves and bird songs, frog croaks and chipmunk scurrying. Welcome to it all. Bring on spring.
And bring on some good books--it is spring story time.
